Do fly screens stick to plaster and wood?

Adhesive fly screens are not suitable for plaster. On wood, the adhesive pads only hold to a limited extent. They adhere better to smooth than to rough, textured surfaces. Because wood has a rough surface, it offers the hook-and-loop adhesive pads of the insect screens less contact area, which leads to poorer adhesion.
Modern window frames are mostly made of aluminium or plastic, specifically PVC. These surfaces are smooth. If they are also free of dust and grease, the adhesive pads will adhere perfectly.

How do I attach a fly screen to the window?

The fly screens in our assortment can be installed without drilling any holes. They are attached using adhesive hook-and-loop pads. Clean the window frame before installation. Then attach the hook-and-loop tape along the four inner sides of the window frame. If necessary, cut the hook-and-loop strip to size with household scissors. Finally, press the fly screen onto the hook-and-loop tape. Make sure that the screen is evenly positioned and not too tight. If necessary, you can adjust the position of the fly screen and trim any excess material.

How do you attach a fly screen to a door?

Clean the door frame thoroughly before installation and remove any dust and grease. Attach the self-adhesive hook-and-loop tape to the frame, following the instructions provided with the insect curtain.

Is it allowed to install fly screens in rented flats?

Yes, you are generally allowed to install fly screens in rented flats. Since the insect screens in our assortment do not require any drilled holes but simply adhere to the window frame, this is not a problem. However, if structural changes are necessary or you need to drill, nail, or make similar alterations during installation, you will need your landlord's consent.

Can children and pets pass through the insect curtain without any problems?

Yes, children and pets can easily pass through the magnetic fly curtain. The magnetic closure is strong enough to hold the two panels together while still allowing them to be easily separated. A gentle nudge is all it takes to open the screen from either side.

Can fly screens be removed without leaving any residue?

Yes, the adhesive fly screens from tesa^® can be removed without leaving any residue. If you move house, you can even reuse some of the adhesive pads.
